DEADLIFE makes darkwave come to life in his latest song

DEADLIFE, a renowned darkwave musician, has just treated his fans to the release of his next single, ‘Downpour’. Out today, the single heralds the approach of his upcoming album City of Eternal Rain which will be released on 24 April via NRW Records.

While not as dark as some of his previous works, ‘Downpour’ features the distorted, harsh bassline that DEADLIFE is known for. An underlying anger drives the track, pushing the listener on and creating a sense of urgency that’s difficult to direct. Comparing the track to one of this better-known works of ‘Deviant’, the listener can hear the musicians own musical evolution.

We’ve included both tracks (above and below) so that you can do your own evaluation.

“When it rains, it pours. Sometimes a lot of bad things happen all at once, we just have to weather the storm. But with that comes renewed passion and determination. For me, I don’t get sad I get angry. If something pushes you, you push back harder. You stand your ground, you know? You become the raging storm. Otherwise the world will eat you alive. The name comes from these emotions, and also it rains almost constantly here. Its hard not to be inspired by the overcast skies, worn down industry, and constant downpours that pepper this city.”
