Today, May 23, 2025, marks the arrival of VELVET MOON’s fifth studio album, Endless War In The Summer, released through Argle Bargle Studios. This Stockholm-based indie outfit has already carved a solid reputation, racking up 15 million streams across platforms with their earlier releases. Their first three albums shot them to international acclaim, even hitting the top of Spotify’s Viral list in Indonesia. They’ve earned nods from heavyweights like CLASH and METAL Magazine, and their live chops shine through performances at spots like The Great Escape and Brinova Arena—the latter being where they recorded their live EP, In The Moment With VELVET MOON, which caught NPR Music’s ear. Their sound’s versatility has landed it in Swedish vlogs and commercials for brands like Kappahl and Bollinger, pulling in fans across generations.

The album’s spotlight track, This Time (It’s Forever), channels pure 80s dancefloor energy with a fresh indie twist. Built on punchy gated reverb, crisp drum machines, and shimmering synths, it’s elevated by Sandra Bjurman’s soulful vocals that dig into a cosmic love story balancing hope and hesitation. Think Chappell Roan colliding with Fleetwood Mac’s synth-pop era—it’s got that same sultry, timeless pull. Endless War In The Summer as a whole leans into emotive grooves and neon-lit nostalgia, making it a record that begs to be felt as much as heard.

VELVET MOON themselves put it best: “‘Endless War In The Summer’ reflects on the ever-present dualities of today’s society, where beauty and chaos, love and disillusionment, exist side by side. It channels the emotional unrest of a generation caught between frustration and fleeting moments of nirvana. At its core, the album embraces the idea of a universal, transformative love – one that’s said to conquer all – yet questions whether that belief is a sacred truth or a beautifully naive dream. In the heart of the turmoil, naivety becomes both a shield and a weapon, a state of grace in a world that constantly demands armour. This is a record for the dreamers at war – with the world, and within themselves. Know that it’s your garden.’”
