Rome-based producer Panoram unveiled a stellar offering titled ‘The Question’ released on his label Wandering Eye.
Having caught the attention of renowned tastemakers such as Pitchfork and Electronic Groove, Panoram has amassed over 1 million streams across platforms, and has also recorded for NTS as well as Boiler Room.
With a soundscape that defies genre and categorisation, Panoram’s productions has been met with great acclaim from the likes of Thom Yorke, who included one of Panoram’s tracks from his album Pianosequenza Vol.1 in a Sonos playlist.
‘The Question’ incorporates elements of jazz, funk and ambient electronica all bundled up into an existential, yet expansive offering. The track feels like a daydream or hallucination, as it’s fuelled by spacious synths and an eerie voice which repeats the phrase “that is the question”.
Speaking on the track, Panoram revealed; “I wanted to create a song for a video I was making. The video consisted of a collage of interviews. The idea was to focus on the moment right after the question is asked and you see different people being interviewed having a reaction to the question. Is the physical reaction before the actual verbal answer. It’s some sort of beautifully suspended moment where everything is still possible.”
