Prolific musician and composer sweeep has released her full-length album wake up before u die via Sonical Dior. Featuring 12 tracks, we are captivated by the producer’s affinity for swaying the listener’s mind and headspace to other spaces. No strict method applies to the artists work, and she has admitted to finding inspiration in the most unexpected places at times.
In an interview with Muze FM, the producer elaborated on her production process for the album: “I always start to record something with a synth or field recorder. Then I have a lot of audio files, so I pick out some parts I like, fill up the soundscape with other sounds and arrange it into something coherent.”
From sweeep’s music alone we can also determine that she finds her core inspiration in a mixture of ambient and mechanical textures. The result is a dark and atmospheric work that transcends genre specifications and boundaries, having one more focused on the somber and sinister mood rather than the genre.
